About
A tiny freshwater shrimp native to Taiwan, famous in aquariums for the vivid red colour of selectively-bred strains — wild individuals are actually translucent brown. Females develop a visible "saddle" of yellow eggs behind the head before they transfer them to their swimmerets to carry until hatching.
