About

The Gordon Setter is the only setter breed with a jet-black and rich mahogany-tan coat, developed in the Scottish Highlands by the 4th Duke of Gordon in the early 1800s to hunt birds in rugged terrain. It is the heaviest of the setter breeds, built for endurance over speed.
