About
The carpet python is a large non-venomous constrictor whose richly blotched and crossbanded scales inspired its name — colour patterns vary so dramatically between regions that several populations were once classified as separate species. Found across Australia and New Guinea, it is a versatile ambush hunter equally at home in rainforest, open woodland, and suburban rooftops.
