About
The Central American spider monkey swings through rainforest canopies using a prehensile tail so dexterous it bears a fingerprint-like grip pad on the underside — effectively a fifth hand. Unusually for primates, they lack a functional thumb; their hook-like four-fingered hands are shaped purely for brachiation.
