About
The White-marked Tussock Moth caterpillar is unmistakable: four dense white tufts stand upright along its back like toothbrush bristles, flanked by vivid red spots and a pair of black hair-pencils at each end. Adult females are wingless and never fly, laying their eggs directly onto the silken cocoon they just emerged from.
