About
The Great Green Macaw, also known as Buffon's Macaw, is a critically endangered parrot native to Central and South America. This species has two subspecies: the nominate subspecies, Ara ambiguus ssp. ambiguus, lives in the canopy of wet tropical forests from Honduras to Colombia, and Ara ambiguus ssp. guayaquilensis is endemic to the dry forests on the southern Pacific coast of Ecuador.
