The bare-nosed wombat is a barrel-shaped marsupial native to southeastern Australia, recognisable by its distinctive leathery, fur-free nose. It excavates elaborate burrow systems with cube-shaped scat used to mark territory — one of only two animals known to produce cubic faeces.
