A cinnamon-furred Himalayan tree-dweller and the sole surviving member of family Ailuridae, unrelated to the giant panda despite the shared bamboo diet. A false 'thumb' formed from an enlarged wrist bone lets it grip stems and shoots with surprising dexterity.
