About
Allspice is a midcanopy tree native to the Greater Antilles, southern Mexico, and Central America whose dried berries smell and taste like a blend of cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg all at once. Its entire aroma comes from a single compound — eugenol — making it one of the few spices that genuinely mimics a whole spice rack on its own.
