About
The leopard slug is one of the largest land slugs in the world, reaching up to 20 cm long with a distinctive pale grey-brown body patterned with dark spots and blotches. It is perhaps most famous for its aerial mating ritual, in which two slugs entwine and lower themselves on a long thread of mucus while exchanging genetic material mid-air.
