A large hornbill of Southeast Asian rainforests, instantly recognisable by the bright orange-red upturned casque perched atop its massive bill. During nesting the female seals herself inside a hollow tree with mud and droppings, leaving only a narrow slit through which the male feeds her for the entire incubation period.
