About
Ginkgo biloba is a gymnosperm tree native to East Asia, and is the only species remaining in the order Ginkgoales, which first appeared 290 million years ago. Interestingly, the tree is a living fossil, and its fossils date back to the Middle Jurassic epoch, 170 million years ago.
