About

A common woodland mushroom with a smooth tawny-orange cap and pale, tightly-packed gills, growing in scattered troops on leaf litter beneath oak and other hardwoods. Despite its name it isn't picky about host trees and turns up in nearly any deciduous or mixed forest.
