About

The tallest hardwood tree in eastern North America, routinely reaching 30–40 metres with a ruler-straight trunk and a pyramidal crown. Its cup-shaped flowers mimic tulips — orange-striped yellow petals with a green base — and bloom high in the canopy each late spring.
