About

The Ruby-lipped Cattleya is a legendary Brazilian orchid and the first tropical epiphyte to bloom in Victorian England — its spectacular rose-purple petals frame a flared, deep-crimson lip that inspired generations of orchid hunters. Declared extinct in the wild for nearly 50 years, it was rediscovered in the mountains of Pernambuco in 1889.
