About

The eclectus parrot is one of the most sexually dimorphic birds on Earth — males are vivid emerald green while females are bright scarlet and royal blue, so different that ornithologists once classified them as entirely separate species. Native to the rainforests of the Maluku Islands and New Guinea, they live in tall canopy trees and communicate with a wide repertoire of calls and learned mimicry.

Life cycle
