About

Hereford cattle are a British breed of beef cattle originally from the West Midlands of England. They were selectively bred from the mid-eighteenth century by a few families in Herefordshire, beginning some decades before the noted work of Robert Bakewell.

Life cycle

   newborn calf

   A wobbly calf stands within hours of birth and stays close to its mother in the herd.

   juvenile

   A weaned juvenile grazes alongside adults, develops budding horns, and learns herd hierarchy.
3. 3.
   adult

   Fully grown, with adult horns and full body size.
