About
The postman butterfly is a widespread Neotropical species celebrated for bold red-and-black warning patterns that vary geographically yet precisely mirror those of the unrelated Heliconius erato — a textbook case of Müllerian mimicry. Unlike most butterflies, it memorises pollen-rich flower locations and feeds on pollen as a protein source, extending its lifespan to several months.
