About

The Flame Skimmer is one of the most brilliantly coloured dragonflies in western North America, with males cloaked in vivid orange-red from wing-tip to tail. They favour warm, sun-drenched ponds and streams, where males perch conspicuously to defend territory and dart out to intercept rivals with remarkable speed.
