Canyon sunflower is a large, shade-tolerant shrub in the daisy family native to coastal canyons and shaded slopes of California and Baja California. It blooms nearly year-round, producing bright yellow daisy-like flowers up to 5 cm across—unusually persistent for a sunflower relative.
