About
The largest of the baboon species, the olive baboon is named for its grizzled olive-grey coat produced by alternating bands of black and yellow-grey on each hair. Males can weigh up to 50 kg and sport a pronounced leonine mane — but the species' most striking feature is its long, dog-like muzzle, which houses powerful canine teeth used in foraging, display, and defence.
