This small songbird lives in the leafy canopy of deciduous forests across America. It sings a continuous, complex melody of up to forty notes while it hunts for caterpillars.

Life cycle

   A small clutch of speckled eggs is incubated in a cup nest, turned and kept warm by the parent.

   A pink, blind hatchling is fed by its parents in the nest, gaping its bill at every visit.
