About

A tiny damselfly of eastern North America, the fragile forktail is named for its distinctive broken — or 'fragile' — shoulder stripe, which appears as two separate spots rather than a continuous line. Males display vivid blue-green markings along a slender black body, rarely exceeding 25 mm in length.
