About
A small, wide-ranging North American rodent named for its deer-like coloring: brown or gray-brown fur on top with a stark white underside. Deermice are prolific seed and insect eaters and are among the most common mammals on the continent, found in nearly every terrestrial habitat except the far southeast and the deep north.
