About

An ornamental Turkish breed prized for its lavish feathered crest, muffs, and beard, plus five toes on each foot and feathering that runs all the way down its legs into slipper-like foot fluff. Once kept exclusively by Ottoman sultans, it was among the first eastern breeds imported to Europe in the 1850s.
