About
Wagler's pit viper is a stocky arboreal snake of Southeast Asian rainforests, famous for a resident population at the Temple of the Azure Cloud in Penang where hundreds drape across altar incense holders, venerated as sacred by worshippers. Adult females dramatically dwarf males in size and sport bold yellow-edged black bands on vivid green scales.
