Peafowl are a genus of large, ground-dwelling pheasants native to South and Southeast Asia, famous for the male's iridescent train of up to 200 eye-spotted feathers raised into a shimmering fan during courtship. The genus holds two species — the blue Indian Peafowl and the Green Peafowl.
