About
Malayan tapirs, also called Asian tapirs, Asiatic tapirs, oriental tapirs, Indian tapirs, piebald tapirs, or black-and-white tapirs, are the only living tapir species outside of the Americas. They are critically endangered, with fewer than 2,500 mature individuals remaining.
