About
The wood frog is a freeze-tolerant amphibian found across North America as far north as the Arctic Circle, able to survive winter with up to 65% of its body water frozen solid by flooding its cells with glucose as a natural antifreeze. It is easily recognized by the dark 'robber's mask' patch across its eyes.
