About
One of North America's smallest butterflies, with a wingspan of just 18–29 mm. Males are iridescent blue above while females are mostly brown; both sexes sport a tiny threadlike tail on each hindwing that mimics antennae to trick predators into striking the wrong end.
Life cycle
