About

The red-eyed tree frog flashes its startling scarlet eyes when disturbed, momentarily freezing predators in a defence strategy called startle coloration. Native to Central American rainforests, it spends its nights hunting insects high in the canopy, gripping leaves with large adhesive toe pads.
