About

One of the oldest recognised cat breeds, the British Shorthair traces back to Roman-era cats brought to Britain and selectively bred for their dense, plush double coat and stocky, round-faced build. Adults are famously calm and undemanding, preferring quiet observation to the high-energy antics of most other breeds.
