Discus Cichlids are a type of freshwater aquarium fish native to the Amazon River Basin in Brazil. They are sometimes referred to as pompadour fish because of their distinctive shape, calm behavior, many bright colors and patterns, and dedicated parenting techniques.

Life cycle
