Paphiopedilum, also known as the Venus slipper, is a genus of orchids native to Southeast Asia, the Indian subcontinent, southern China, New Guinea and the Solomon and Bismarck Islands. This genus comprises some 80 accepted taxa, including several natural hybrids.
