About
The green anaconda is the world's heaviest snake, with females reaching over 5 metres and 200 kg — several times the mass of the largest males. Semi-aquatic and built for ambush, it lurks in murky South American swamps with its eyes and nostrils set high on its skull so it can breathe while almost fully submerged.
