About

A broad, leaf-brown true bug found throughout Europe and Central Asia, the dock bug feeds on dock, sorrel, and bramble by piercing stems to drain plant sap. When threatened it releases a pungent scent-gland secretion — a chemical defence shared across the Coreidae family.
