About

This small tree frog lives in the forests and wetlands of the southeastern US. It can rapidly shift its skin color between bright green and dark brown to hide.

Life cycle

   A jelly-coated egg is laid in water and develops over days into an aquatic larva.

   A gilled tadpole swims and grazes on algae, slowly absorbing its tail and growing limbs.
