About

The eastern gorilla is the world's largest living primate, with silverback males weighing up to 220 kg and capable of producing a roar audible over a kilometre away. The mountain gorilla subspecies is the only great ape whose wild population is actually growing, now surpassing 1,000 individuals thanks to decades of intensive protection.
