About

An ancient sentinel breed from the monasteries and palaces of Tibet, where Lhasa Apsos served as indoor watchdogs for over a thousand years. Their long, dense double coat — which parts naturally down the spine — gave rise to their Tibetan name, "Abso Seng Kye," meaning "Bark Lion Sentinel Dog."
